Welcome to the Corra Bike Ride Charity
Corra Bike Ride Charity, based in Featherstone is a charity organisation which runs from the Girnhill Lane WMC. The charity was established in 1996 with 6 people and the objective was to raise £1000 for a unit at Pontefract General Infirmary. One of the founder members was Mr John Holt, who was awarded the MBE in January 2009 for his voluntary services to the community of Featherstone.
The Charity has now been running for over 10 years and has gone from strength to strength. We now have over 50 members, who work tirelessly and voluntary to raise funds that enable organisations/individuals to purchase much needed equipment/Treatment, ensuring a greater quality of life for a wide range of people.
Throughout the year we organise many fundraising events, which includes our annual bike ride from a chosen destination back to Girnhill Lane WMC.
Some of the destinations that we have cycled from are, Bridlington, Scarborough, Blackpool, Angel of the North, Filey, Humber Bridge and Whitby.
Our chosen charity runs from October to October. We hold a presentation night, which includes vocal entertainment and an auction. Monies raised is then presented to the beneficiary.
We all get great satisfaction from seeing people being able to purchase much needed equipment, obtain treatment that will give them an improved quality of life.
